Add Indicators to TradingView

Updated

Your indicators come as Pine Script source code. Adding one to TradingView means pasting that code into the Pine Editor once and saving it. The saved script stays in your TradingView account and can be used on other devices. Copy fresh code when updating the software or renewing monthly access.

Step by step

  1. Copy the code — On your OptiTrade access page, click the green Copy Code button for the indicator you want. You will repeat these steps once per indicator.
  2. Open TradingView — Go to tradingview.com and log in. Use the website, not the app.
  3. Open a chart — Click Products in the top menu, then Supercharts.
  4. Open the Pine Editor — Click the small triangle-shaped Pine Editor icon on the right-hand toolbar. Hover over it to see “Pine”.
  5. Create a script, clear the editor, then paste — Open the script-name menu (it may say Untitled) → Create new → Indicator. Click inside the editor and select all code (Ctrl+A / Cmd+A). Press Backspace or Delete to DELETE EVERYTHING. Check that the editor is completely empty. Only then paste the entire copied code (Ctrl+V / Cmd+V), including its first and last lines.
  6. Save & Add to chart — At the top of Pine Editor, click the cloud icon with an up arrow (hover: Save script) and give it a recognizable name. Click the play-shaped icon (hover: Add to chart) and allow it to load. Check the chart legend for the indicator and any red error icon. Hover over its name and click the gear icon to review settings, then save the chart layout.
  7. Repeat for each indicator — For the next one, create a new script (click the script title → Create new → Indicator) so you don't overwrite the last. All your scripts live under Indicators → My scripts.

Update your code or renew monthly access

Your saved TradingView script does not update automatically. After a software release or monthly renewal, return to My Access and follow Replace code already on your chart for the matching indicator.

  1. Record your chart, settings and alert configuration. If you automate broker orders, pause the old alert while updating and check any open broker position.
  2. Copy the latest code. Open the matching saved script in Pine Editor. Select all code (Ctrl+A / Cmd+A), press Backspace or Delete, and check that the editor is completely empty. Only then paste the entire fresh code. Save and Update on chart; avoid running duplicate copies.
  3. Check your inputs after the update. Delete and recreate existing alerts from the updated chart. Alerts keep the old code, settings, symbol and timeframe from when they were created.
  4. Verify the alert condition, message and notifications. For automation, also verify the connector message and webhook before enabling it.

Monthly customers should refresh after renewal, before the expiry shown on My Access. Lifetime customers do not need renewal codes, but still need fresh code to receive software changes.

Fresh code is available on My Access while your access is active. You do not need to wait for a monthly email. An expired saved copy does not mean you need to buy the indicator again.
