Automatic Trading
Updated
OptiTrade can place trades for you, automatically, around the clock — even while you sleep. It does this by sending its signals to a connector, which forwards them to your broker. You keep full control of the settings; the connector just executes.
How it works
Signal Generated
OptiTrade produces a signal, which triggers an alert on TradingView.
Connector Receives
The alert sends the signal details to your connector through a webhook.
Trade Executed
Your connector forwards the order to your broker, which opens or closes the trade.

Setup steps
- Pick a connector — Choose one from the tables above based on your broker or platform.
- Follow their setup — Sign up with your connector and follow the instructions on their website — they guide you through the whole process and explain their exact alert format.
Custom Alert Messages (required)
With Alert Message for set to Automatic Trading, OptiTrade does not invent a message of its own: every order sends exactly the text in the matching 🔸 Custom Alert Messages field. Until you fill them in, each field holds the placeholder Enter your custom alert message here. See guide at www.OptiTrade.shop/guide — and that placeholder is what your connector would receive.
- Copy your connector's messages — In your connector (SignalStack, TradeAdapter, PineConnector or any other), copy the alert message it gives you for each order type — typically one for buying/opening a long and one for selling/opening a short, plus any exit messages it provides.
- Open the indicator's settings — On your chart, open the OptiTrade 2.0 settings. In Alert Settings 🔔, set Alert Message for to Automatic Trading.
- Fill in every field — Scroll to 🔸 Custom Alert Messages and replace the placeholder in each field with the matching message from your connector.
- Save, then create the alert — Click OK, then create the alert as described in Create the alert:
{{strategy.order.alert_message}}in the Message field and your connector's link as the Webhook URL. If an alert already existed, delete it and create it again — alerts keep the settings they were created with.
- HWR Strategy and Buy-Sell Strategy
- Two fields: (Long) Custom Alert Message and (Short) Custom Alert Message.
- TP-SL Strategy
- Twelve fields: Long / Short Entry, Long / Short Stop Loss, and Long / Short TP1 to TP4. The Stop Loss and Take Profit fields are the exits, so each needs the connector's message for closing that position.
TP-SL: more than one take profit
When using more than one Take Profit, confirm how your connector handles each exit message and position quantity. If it only supports closing the whole position, use one Take Profit. Follow the connector's message format and test it on a demo account before enabling broker execution.
Alert message notes
- Keep
{{strategy.order.alert_message}}in TradingView's main Message field when using the custom messages configured inside OptiTrade. Do not assume a TradingView placeholder pasted inside a custom field will expand there. - Every connector has its own message format. Always follow their documentation over any generic example.
- In OptiTrade, set Alert Message for to Automatic Trading (in Alert Settings) and fill in the Custom Alert Messages before creating your automation alert. See Signal Alerts for how to create the alert itself.
