Scalping Indicator for TradingView: Signals, Stop-Loss and Take-Profit on Low Timeframes

OptiTrade is a scalping indicator for TradingView that works on 1-minute and 5-minute charts. Its TP-SL Strategy gives every Buy or Sell entry a Stop Loss box and up to four Take Profit lines, so each quick trade has its exit plan on the chart before you click. It doesn't repaint, and you get access for just $14.

Updated

  • Works on all charts and all timeframes, including 1-minute and 5-minute charts.
  • Every TP-SL entry comes with a Stop Loss box and 1 to 4 Take Profit lines, sized in ATR so they fit a fast chart.
  • A lower Signal Length gives more, faster signals for active, short-term trading; filters keep the chart from over-trading.
  • TradingView alerts fire on the entry, each Take Profit and the Stop Loss, and connectors can send them to your broker.
  • OptiTrade doesn't repaint: once a signal appears on your chart, it stays exactly where it is.

What a scalping indicator has to do

Scalping means many short trades on 1-minute and 5-minute charts. There is no time to work out a stop and a target after the entry, so a scalping indicator is only useful if it gives you all three at once: where to get in, where the trade is wrong, and where to take money off the table.

  • An entry signal that is clear the moment it appears.
  • A Stop Loss and a Take Profit that fit the speed of the chart you are on.
  • Alerts, so you do not have to stare at every candle.
  • Signals that stay where they are. OptiTrade doesn't repaint: once a signal appears on your chart, it stays exactly where it is.

How OptiTrade looks on a 1-minute or 5-minute chart

OptiTrade works on all charts and all timeframes, from 1min and 5min up to Daily and Weekly, on stocks, forex, futures, indices, commodities, options, ETFs, CFDs and bonds. On a low timeframe, the TP-SL Strategy trades like this:

  1. OptiTrade gives a Buy or Sell entry signal.
  2. It immediately draws a Stop Loss box (your maximum risk) and up to four Take Profit lines (your targets).
  3. As price reaches each Take Profit, part of the trade closes.
  4. If price reaches the Stop Loss first, the trade closes for a controlled loss.
  5. An exit label marks each finished trade, so the session's trades stay readable on the chart.

Why ATR-based stops suit fast charts

The Stop Loss is measured in ATR, the average size of the last 14 candles, roughly one candle. On a 1-minute chart one candle is small, on a 5-minute chart it is larger, so the stop always sits about the same number of candles away and scales with the chart you trade. The Risk-Reward ratio then sets each Take Profit from that distance: with a 2 ATR stop and a Risk-Reward of 3, the target is 6 ATR away.

Keeping a busy chart clean

A scalping session prints a lot of trades. Set Show Trade Sizes to New Signals so only the newest entry labels carry the trade size, and turn off Color Candles by Wave Trend if you prefer a plain chart; the strategy works exactly the same without it. Turning off Show TP/SL Zones removes the boxes and lines while keeping the entry and exit labels.

Scalping settings for 1-5 minute charts

In Automatic mode, OptiTrade tests ranges of these settings on your chart and applies the combination that tested best. In Manual mode, you type in the exact values and OptiTrade uses precisely those. These are the dials that matter most for scalping:

OptiTrade settings for scalping on a 1-minute or 5-minute chart
SettingWhat it controlsStarting point for scalping
Signal LengthThe master dial for how many signals appear. A smaller length gives more, faster signals; a bigger one gives fewer, cleaner signals. For more signals, a range between 2 and 10. If a 1-minute chart gets too busy, move the range up.
Stop Loss (TP-SL)How far the Stop Loss sits from the entry, in ATR: the average size of the last 14 candles, roughly one candle. For a tighter stop, a range between 1 and 2.5.
Take Profits (TP-SL)How many targets each trade gets, from 1 to 4. More targets close the trade in stages.1 for one quick target, or more to scale out as price runs.
Minimum Candles between SignalsMakes OptiTrade wait at least this many candles before it opens a new trade.Raise it when the chart over-trades in a choppy stretch.
Max Trade Duration (Candles)The longest a trade can stay open. Past it, OptiTrade closes the trade at the current price.Set it to keep scalps short.
Trading Time FilterTrades only inside the Trading Session you set (HHMM-HHMM) and on the weekdays you pick. Close Trades at Session End closes anything still open.Set it to the session you actually scalp.
ResolutionsHow many values OptiTrade tests inside each range. Keep the total (the two resolutions multiplied) under about 1,000.8 and 15 for faster loading.

Which OptiTrade strategy to use for scalping

Your purchase includes 4 core indicators. Each one handles a quick trade differently, so many traders keep two strategies on separate charts and compare them on the same symbol.

Higher-timeframe context with the bonus indicators

A 1-minute entry is stronger when the bigger picture agrees. Your access page also has 4 bonus indicators, and three of them fit a scalping routine:

  • Analyzer Pro reads RSI, MACD, ADX, Bollinger, EMA 50 and VWAP across up to five timeframes at once. Enter the timeframes as numbers for minutes (for example 1,5,15,60) and take a Buy when the higher timeframes agree it is bullish.
  • Bounce Zones draws support (demand) and resistance (supply) zones automatically. Look for buy signals near a demand zone and sell signals near a supply zone; a stop just beyond a zone and a target at the next zone are sensible spots.
  • Volume Pro shows the real buying and selling pressure. A Buy signal backed by rising buy pressure is stronger.

Scalping alerts and automation

Nobody can watch every 1-minute candle all day. An alert notifies you when an eligible live strategy order fills: an entry, a Take Profit or a Stop Loss, through the notification methods you pick in TradingView, such as app push or email.

  1. Under Alert Settings, set Alert Message for to Manual Trading. The message then contains the signal, the ticker and the exact trade size.
  2. Open the Alerts panel (the clock icon) and click the plus button.
  3. Under Condition, select the strategy on your chart, and choose Order fills only if TradingView offers a trigger choice.
  4. Paste {{strategy.order.alert_message}} into the Message field, pick your notification methods and click Create.

One rule matters for scalpers who switch charts: TradingView saves a snapshot of the symbol, timeframe and settings when you create an alert. Moving from the 1-minute to the 5-minute chart, or to another symbol, needs a new alert. Every triggered alert is listed under the Log tab. Full steps: Signal Alerts guide.

To let the trades place themselves, set the alert mode to Automatic Trading, fill in the Custom Alert Messages with your connector's messages, and send the alert by webhook to a connector such as TradeAdapter, SignalStack or CrossTrade.io, which forwards the order to your broker. Test it on a demo account first. Setup: Automatic Trading guide, and for how each exit level is alerted, see the stop-loss and take-profit indicator page.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a TradingView scalping indicator with stop loss and take profit levels?

Yes. OptiTrade's TP-SL Strategy draws a Stop Loss box and up to four Take Profit lines on your TradingView chart the moment it gives a Buy or Sell entry, on 1-minute and 5-minute charts as well as higher timeframes. Details: TP-SL Strategy guide.

Does OptiTrade work on 1-minute and 5-minute charts?

Yes. OptiTrade works on all charts and all timeframes: 1min, 5min, 15min, 1H, 4H, Daily and Weekly. It supports stocks, forex, futures, indices, commodities, options, ETFs, CFDs and bonds.

Which settings should I change for scalping?

Start with the Signal Length: a range between 2 and 10 gives more, faster signals. For a tighter stop, set the Stop Loss range between 1 and 2.5 ATR. Minimum Candles between Signals and the Trading Time Filter keep a fast chart from over-trading. Details: Tuning TP-SL.

Do I need a new alert when I switch from the 1-minute to the 5-minute chart?

Yes. TradingView saves a snapshot of the symbol, timeframe and settings when you create an alert, so after changing the timeframe or the symbol, delete the old alert and create a new one from the updated chart. Details: Signal Alerts guide.

Does the OptiTrade scalping indicator repaint?

No. OptiTrade doesn't repaint. Once a signal appears on your chart, it stays exactly where it is.
